Needs Assessment

Needs Assessment:  (Identify student learning and reference sources of data)

  • Increase the percentage of students meeting the math goal by 5% in grades 3 and 5.
  • Increase the percentage of students meeting the math goal by 10% in grade 4

ü      Focus on the areas of estimation, approximating measures, customary and metric measures, and mathematical applications as determined by CMT analysis and stated above.

·        Increase the percentage of students achieving goal in reading in all four areas of comprehension as follows:

ü      Grade 4 by 10%

ü      Grade 3 and 5 by 5%

ü      Based on CMT analysis, Chapel needs to prioritize instruction in this order: making connections, examining content and structure, developing interpretations, and general understanding.

·        Increase by 5% in the area of writing as well as editing and revising.

·        The Economically Disadvantaged cohort group in grades 4 and 5 need to improve by 10% in reading in order to continue to show substantial growth.

Goal: To increase the percentage of students maintaining or achieving proficiency as indicated above in all grades and areas as measured by CMT data and analysis.

Objectives:

  1. Increase small group work, using the SRBI model with all students and specifically with those identified as needing remedial help in the Economically Disadvantaged cohort group.
  2. To improve student achievement in reading, editing and revising and comprehension skills as identified in CMT data analysis.
  3. Structure K-2 lessons to address needs identified in math with grades 3-6.
  4. Design student success plans to focus on identified students in areas of weakness based on CMT data analysis.
