Dismissal Procedure
March 12, 2010
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The safety of our students is one of our major concerns at school. Over the course of the year, the afternoon dismissal has become quite dangerous for parents, students, and bus personnel. In order to alleviate these safety issues, Chapel will follow a new dismissal protocol.
All walkers will be dismissed from the front entrance and walked to the Flood loop. No cars will be allowed in the loop in front of Chapel Street School after 2:30 pm. Some of our busses and vans arrive earlier and need to be off Chapel Street for their safety and the safety of other drivers.
When you use the Flood loop, please remember to stay in your car. The teachers will make sure your child enters your car safely from the passenger’s side. This will keep the line moving swiftly. Of course, if you prefer to get out of your car, you must park it in one of the parking spaces. No cars will be allowed to park in the loop itself. Flood Middle School dismissal is at 2:30 pm and no cars will be able to enter the loop during that time. By 2:45, their busses are gone and you may enter safely.
We know that this new procedure will take a few days to really move quickly, so we ask for your patience. We will begin this new dismissal on Monday, April 5, 2010. Thank you for your attention in this matter.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Craig Richard Napoli
